Butanding Barrio is an enclave for artists and artisans who want to collaborate for sustainable cultural development. We provide space for makers and movers to create programs, events, and initiatives that support the local community and contribute to the Palawan cultural economy.

Collaborate

Perry Mamaril

Perry Mamaril is our first artist in residence. He created the sea creatures suspended from our ceiling out of rattan (a kind of cane grass) and lights. He is a Baguio-based artist working with NoSpace Collective. He was also a chef at Purple Yam in New York. He helped us plan our kitchen, and has come back to feature in special dinners with the Binhi Supper Club.

AFP Art Residency

The Art Fair Philippines and Butanding Barrio Art Residency is a three week free-flowing program where both Butanding Barrio and the artist can collaborate together to tailor the program according to the artist’s needs. The artists have the opportunity to explore the natural wonders that Palawan has to offer as well as visit and possibly collaborate with the local artisans and craftsmen.
